About Kiwanis International
Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. Every year, Kiwanis members stage more than 241,000 service projects and raise nearly US$340 million for children, families and communities around the world.
Kiwanis club projects are based on the community’s needs. Each Kiwanis club decide for themself what projects to do in their community, based on their own community's needs and their members' interests. Service to children is a primary focus in Kiwanis.
Kiwanis International was founded in 1915 in Detroit, Michigan, is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States, and is found in more than 80 nations and geographic areas. Kiwanis and its affiliated clubs have more than 350,000 members, raise over $ 300 million each year and report over 18.5 million volunteer hours to strengthen communities and serve children.
